Facebook owns Instagram and up until recently, a page on Facebook called “Cute boys” - full of inappropriate pictures and a lure for pedophiles, was still up. It took thousands of people calling out Facebook for this page to be removed. Any platform that wants to be taken seriously in regards to the protection of our data and information must first protect the most vulnerable members of society. It isn’t complicated, and any implication that it is should be regarded as complicit behaviour.
