Should visually impaired/blind individuals have access to the information on community calendars?
For the past eight years, Insight for New Housing has taken the lead in bringing to the attention of the public that "community calendars" should serve the entire community, without leaving out the blind and visually impaired. Now we are asking the public to make comments to share your opinions and let us know if it is just a desire that we have or if you are of the same mind. By signing on as a supporter of this initiative you agree that: 1. Leaving out the visually impaired community is not an option. 2. The technology is available to include a speaking capacity and close captioning to serve the cross disability community. 3. Supporters and funders of this concept will be broadening the consumer base and empowering all those who see or hear the information contained in the community Calendar bulletin board. We the undersigned agree with the above statements.
