I believe if Insurance cover infertility in Trinidad and the wider world it will go a long way helping those who need it as it is a costly process.

My infertility is due to my severe endometriosis. ... ive spent soooo much money on medical bills and sti have another cycle of ivf to go... there are no guarantees. ... we need the financial assistance

We can be responsible parents, and raise children who contribute positively to our society. All we need is a chance. It's difficult enough dealing with infertility, and even worse when there's no one in your corner. Having insurance coverage would be of great help.

We are suffering in silence in Trinidad and Tobago. I am infertile that's a disease. Why have health insurance that won't help you when you are genuinely sick and in need of financial assistance. Insurance companies in Trinidad and Tobago need to move on up with the times.

No one would visit a doctor, pay to have test done, some very costly, if they had any other choice. Visiting a Fertility Doctor means something in your body needs help to function normally. Insurance Companies must recognise the need to help in some way. Who knows it may even get them more clients, and you may even get some blessings..

The WHO has long classed Infertility as a disease, no different to Diabetes or Heart Disease. With that in mind, most countries will offer some degree, whether full or partial, of insurance coverage for this disease. Please T& T insurers come to the party and provide, at least, some basic support for Infertility.

Patients with infertility require medical tests, medical treatments and medical assistance, in the same way as patients with any other medical problem. Patients with high Cholesterol wish not to have a stroke in 10 years and so they get their help, patients with arthritis wish not to have pain and so they get their help, patients who smoke and have emphysema wish to be able to breath more easily and so they get their help. Why do people with infertility, who wish to have a baby, get no help? A PLEA to insurance companies in T&T, please look at the assistance your international colleagues offer and fall in line with international standards to AT THE MINIMUM cover the costs of the medical TESTING required for infertility conditions.

I think they should cover these medical expenses. Some of these tests are very costly. I mean, isn't treating my infertility dealing with my health. Everyone deserves a chance and if insurance companies cover these expenses i'm sure it'll be one burden off our shoulders and give us some hope.
