Lowell George is a unique musical artist who should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. For the HOF to be a special place without artist like Lowell George it becomes a sham. Although he was gone far too soon during his brief career he made wonder music, extraordinarily special music. Rock and Roll, R&B with the New Orleans sound and wonderful ballads. He should be must, must be in for the Hall to be legitimate.

A great artist and songwriter who always went his way and never worried about pleasing everybody. A man who was trusted to play Frank Zappa’s music and then had Zappa’s support when getting Little Feat off the ground. Admired, respected, covered, and sampled by the likes of Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Linda Rondstadt, Nazareth, Van Halen, The Grateful Dead, The Black Crowes, Gregg Allman, Van Dyke Parks, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Palmer, The Meters, Randy Newman, Glenn Campbell, Tom Perry & The Heartbreakers, Rick Nelson, A Tribe Called Quest, Tupac Shakur, Big Daddy Kane, Alicia Keys, various members of Wu Tang Clan, Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth fame, Mary J. Blige,
Lowell George has been gone for forty years now, but his work continues to find new admirers and his band continues to inspire loyalty and devotion.

Lowell George is one of those vectors in rock music where so many threads of American music were synthesized Into something new and exciting, and in turn influenced diverse artists who followed. Lowell George is as relevant today as when he was recording and touring in the late 70s.
Little Feat !
