There should not even be a discussion. Musicians love them, the fan base is as dedicated as any, Live at Budokan is one of the most iconic rock records ever made and they have 200 other greats songs. The longevity is remarkable and they are better than ever live. Do the right thing and end this madness. Bands with fewer hits and less impact are in already, Cheap Trick must be in.

they rocked the world!! with class!! they have soooo many songs most people never hear that are mind blowing and very deep!!

The R&R HOF was set up to recognize greatness and legacies. KISS is now in due to their legacy of changing the business of Rock & Roll (i.e. merchandising and likeness rights). Many lesser selling bands have been inducted due to their influence of larger Rock & Roll figures. An enormous aspect of Rock & Roll is the live show, and Cheap Trick's legacy is their commitment to the live show. They have now performed twice as many concerts than the "perceived" standard bearer of touring, The Grateful Dead. If the committee would be willing to consider the "LIVE" legacy of Cheap Trick, they would discover a band dedicated to the idiom that "Rock and Roll will never die." Give Cheap Trick the credit that they deserve for keeping stages alive and seats filled and for THEIR influence on bands that are already in the R&R HOF.
