Great band. Love their songs. Our band plays 96 tears and I Need Somebody. We were playing them in 1967.

This band should not be ignored - their influence on the 1960s garage punk scene was immeasurable and you only have to look at the number of covers of "96 Tears" too see how influential they have become - everyone from Aretha Franklin to The Stranglers have covered the song.

Grew up listening to this great tune and then followed Mel into Grand Funk for more of his great bass lines. I learned to play bass from his style along with Deep Purple, Black Sabath and Led Zep. What a time it was. In Cleveland I was following early stuff like Terry Knight and the pack and Cleveland band Choir And Rasberries groups. Adam Blessing, etc. Was a great time >
