Alice In Chains was the only grunge/ alternative era band that could play on any bill and fit because there music was heavy and gloomy like Sabbath with a grunge twist. They could play with any band and fit in. Lane had a truly unique vocal style and with the harmonies combined with Jerry Cantrell still stands out from the others as not a labeled genre, but just a great band with deep passion. No one sounded like Alice In Chains. There sound is truly there own . Having this trait gained them fans that others could not. Metal, pop, Hard rock grunge / alternative cross over

With over 30 years and no sign of slowing down, from facelift to tripod and the unplugged performance, and even post layne albums black gives way to blue, the devil puts dinosaurs here and rainer frog, alice in chains deserves to be honored into the rock n roll hall of fame. With a career spanning 20 years, extension of new generations that love their music they have proven they are still vital even in this era. This honor needs to be recognized, its time when give this band the praise they have rightfully earned.
