The state finally committed to funding early education and we actually won this fight. I am exhausted but thankful that these children will now get the start they deserve. We need to stay focused to ensure they keep their word.

This week the National Institute for Early Education Research's annual "State of Preschool" report was released. Indiana earned an F for failing to support ANY preschool programs! There are only 5 states that enroll fewer 4 year olds than Indiana does.

Early education programs such as preschool have a tremendously positive impact on a child's educational achievement. In fact, Science magazine recently found children who attended preschool are 24 percent more likely to attend a 4 year college and 28 perecent less likely to end up with drug, alcohol, or criminal trouble.

Preschool and early education must be a priority in Indiana. Sign the petition and voice your support to put our children's education first!

The latest reports from the capital remain discouraging but I am still sending these names to every office that will listen. It is exhausting to keep pushing when the doors keep closing yet the impact on our children is too great to walk away.

My son is in preschool and the difference it makes is night and day. Every child in Indiana deserves this head start.

An F grade is just embarrassing for our state. We need to do better for these kids.

It shouldn't even be a debate. Early learning is basic common sense.

Kids are our future and we are failing them. Need state funding for preschool ASAP.

How are we falling this far behind? So sad for the families that cant afford private programs.
