High schools should require students to take classes that will prepare them for living on their own. Classes could include learning how to balance a checkbook, budget money, fill out applications and resumes, etc.Going to college, many students worry about their workload being too difficult or large. However, they often lose sight of the fact that they will be living on their own for the first time. There are many things young adults don't even realize they don't know how to do. The stress and time it takes to learn these new ways can distract students from their school work and cause their grades to drop. High schools should teach classes that could help students learn these life skills and make their preparation for college more well-rounded.
