This is a disease and it needs to be treated as such. As you can see the old ways Re not working.

These drugs took someone who I loved and cared for dearly away from me. It's ripped me up inside and I wouldn't ever wish anyone to go through this so let's make a change for the better and stop this spread of addiction from growing !

This is an issue that is very close to my heart. I have had several family members that have struggled and some that are currently struggling with addiction. Getting appropriate treatment is extremely difficult. I'm also a special education teacher for students with emotional disabilities. So many of my student's parents have struggled or are currently struggling with addition. Again, it is very difficult for them to get the treatment they need. This will not only help the addicts, in the long run, t is going to benefit children of addicts.

My brother lost his life fighting this disease. He spent more time in jail than he did out.

The sooner the better. Jails just make addicts better criminals.

I have been dealing with this with my addicted son for 11 years. The last time he got out of prison he looked worse then when he went in. He had no problems getting Suboxone in jail. He can't get a job, help from Medicade or food stamps. If addicts go to jail they need 24 hour substance abuse counseling not one meeting a week if they are even lucky enough to go. It may be too late for my son because of the amount of time he has spent abusing. I hope not. But if we can save the kids or adults entering this life it would be an improvement. Educate don't incarcerate.
