حرفه مددکاری اجتماعی، بنا شده بر پایه اصول و ارزش های انسانی است که همواره در راستای عدالت و برابری گام برداشته است. اگرچه در دنیای امروز، این حرفه دیگر منحصر به خیریه ها و بنیادهای دینی در جامعه نیست اما در طی چهل و چهارسال گذشته تا کنون، قربانی مصلحت اندیشی های نظام جمهوری اسلامی در تمامی سطوح خرد و کلان در ایران بوده است. تبعیض های ساختاری علیه زنان درسیستم های به اصطلاح رفاهی و دخالت های امنیتی و عقیدتی در حل مسائل اجتماعی، نمونه هایی از چنین مصلحت اندیشی هایی هستند که موانع راه مددکاران اجتماعی در اجرای عدالت و اصول اخلاق حرفه ای بوده است.

مددکاران اجتماعی ایران، با امید اصلاح و با تکیه بر اصل احترام به فرهنگ، تلاش بر بهبود شرایط ستم دیدگان به ویژه زنان و کودکان در چهل و چهار سال اخیرداشته اند اما به دلیل سرکوب ها و خشونت های ساختارمند در نظام جمهوری اسلامی، توانایی تقید کامل به ارزش های اخلاقی حرفه خود را نداشته اند و در بسیاری از موارد، مجبور به سازش و سکوت شده اند.

اما در این لحظه از تاریخ که اعتراض به ظلم و سرکوب ساختارمند و جنایت علیه زنان و کودکان تبدیل به جنبش یکپارچه مردمی در ایران شده است دیگر هرگونه مسالمت، مدارا و سکوت، با نام احترام به فرهنگ یا برای اصلاح سیستمی که خشونت را درعریان ترین شکل خود نشان داده در حرفه مددکاری اجتماعی پذیرفتنی نخواهد بود.

امروز، ندای “زن، زندگی، آزادی” رساتر از هرزمان دیگری نه تنها بر پهنای سرزمین همیشه پایدار ایران بلکه در سرتاسر جهان طنین افکنده است. ندای این جنبش، صریحا به مددکاران اجتماعی اعلام می دارد که دیگر سرکوب ها و محدودیت هایی که سال ها با واژگانی نظیر مقام زن و شان انسانی در دستورالعمل مداخلات اجتماعی، توجیه می شدند برای ملت شریف ایران پذیرفتنی نیست.

درحال حاضر، مددکاران اجتماعی که سوگند خورده اند تا حامیان جنبش های عدالت خواهانه باشند، باید بیشتر از هرزمان دیگری مسئولیت حرفه ای خود و تعهد به این سوگند را به جای آورند، در کنار مردم بوده و صدای آنان باشند زیرا که جنبش اخیر، حساس ترین لحظه تاریخی مبارزه علیه بی عدالتی و شوریدن علیه تبعیض و نابرابریست.

بنابراین ما، جمعی از مددکاران اجتماعی و فارغ التحصیلان این رشته در ایران ضمن اعلام همدردی خود با ملت داغ دیده که سال هاست روح و پیکر یکپارچه اش آمیخته با دردهای فراوان بوده، هرگونه سرکوب، بازداشت و کشتار علیه جنبش مردمی ملت ایران را محکوم می کنیم. ما هم چنین سکوت تشکل هایی که عنوان انجمن های مددکاری اجتماعی در ایران را یدک می کشند محکوم کرده و از پیشکسوتان، اساتید، سرپرستان و فدراسیون بین المللی مددکاری اجتماعی مطالبات زیر را خواستاریم:

مددکاران اجتماعی در ایران در چهل و چهار سال گذشته هیچ گونه انجمن صنفی نداشته اند. بنابراین، هرگونه انجمنی تحت عناوین صنفی یا علمی مددکاری اجتماعی که به نمایندگی از مددکاران اجتماعی ایران یا سخنگوی آن است را به رسمیت نمی شناسیم. این انجمن ها و افراد سخنگوی آنان که در سال های گذشته بازوی اجرای طرح های اجتماعی نظام جمهوری اسلامی بوده اند ، با سکوت خود در برابر بازداشت های اخیر مددکاران اجتماعی و دانشجویان این رشته، باردیگر ثابت کردند که نماینده و صدای مددکاران اجتماعی بی صدا در ایران نیستند.

ما از تریبون های بین المللی مددکاری اجتماعی به ویژه فدراسیون بین المللی مددکاری اجتماعی می خواهیم که صدای قربانی شدن چهل و چهارساله ارزش های اخلاقی حرفه مددکاری اجتماعی در جمهوری اسلامی باشند و از تریبون دادن به افرادی تحت عنوان انجمن مددکاری در ایران، پرهیز کنند. زیرا که این افراد، نماینده مددکاران اجتماعی ایران نیستند و در مقابل سرکوب و جنایت و بازداشت مددکاران اجتماعی و سایر مردم و کودکان بی گناه سکوت کرده اند.

ضمن محکومیت کشتار کودکان، زنان و مردان بی دفاع و مظلوم ایران که برای بیان خواسته های برحق خود اعتراض کرده اند، خواهان حمایت سرپرستان مددکاری اجتماعی، سازمان های مردم نهاد و روسای گروه های مددکاری اجتماعی دانشگاه ها از جنبش مردمی ایران و پیگیری آن ها جهت آزادی بدون قید و شرط و یا لغو اجرای هرگونه حکمی علیه مددکاران اجتماعی و دانشجویان مددکاری اجتماعی بازداشت شده هستیم.

از اساتید و پیشکسوتان مددکاری اجتماعی ایران می خواهیم که دیگر مسالمت، سکوت و امید به اصلاح خشونت ساختاری چهل و چهار ساله را کنار گذاشته و با لغو کلاس های درسی و حمایت از تحصن دانشجویان در کنار دانشجویان مددکاری اجتماعی و ملت شریف ایران قرار بگیرند.

و در نهایت از تمامی مددکاران اجتماعی داخل و خارج از ایران که هنوز به اصول و ارزش های انسان باورانه این رشته ایمان دارند و همواره زندگی خود را وقف آزادی و عدالت کرده اند می خواهیم که به جنبش عظیم مردمی ایران پیوسته و صدای آنان باشند. به امید پیروزی

Social work is a profession that is founded on ethical values and principles and therefore must move societies in a direction that promotes justice and equality. In the modern world, the vocation is no longer a profession that is practiced solely by nonprofit organizations and religious institutions. However, Social Work in Iran has been a victim of the Islamic Republic system's political expediency at both the micro and macro levels for the past 44 years. Such overarching control has always acted as a barrier to social workers pursuing social justice and upholding international standards of professional ethics. The reality of this condition can be seen in structural discrimination against women in Iran’s so-called welfare systems, and ideological interference in resolving social problems.

Iranian Social workers have struggled to improve the lives of the oppressed, particularly women and children, in the hopes of bringing about reform while honoring the cultural landscape in the last 44 years. However, they have not been able to completely uphold the ethical values of their profession due to the repression and organized violence under the Islamic Republic system. In many situations, social workers have been obliged to tolerate, keep quiet and reconcile. But, any sort of compliance, tolerance, or silence within a system that oppresses women and commits crimes against humanity, particularly against children, is now impossible in the context of the present movement and national protests.

Today, the call for "woman, life, freedom" is resonating louder than ever, not only in Iran but globally. The present movement is a declaration that the people of Iran will no longer tolerate oppression and accept the limitations in the name of Islam on human dignity that is seen in guidelines for social workers undertaking societal interventions. In this regard, we, as a group of Iranian social workers, express both our sorrow for our nation and our support for the resistance movement in Iran. Additionally, we condemn the brutality of the Islamic regime against children and women. We denounce the silence of groups that refer to themselves as social work associations in Iran and we make the following demands from the Iranian social workers, professors, supervisors, and the International Federation of Social Work (IFSW):

- We reject any spokesperson who is affiliated with Iranian social workers or the Iranian Social Work Association and declare that they are not representatives of Iranian social workers. There has been no oversight body or union for social workers for the past 44 years. In recent years, the aforementioned organizations have served as the vehicle for carrying out the social programs of the Iranian Islamic Regime. They are not speaking out right now over the latest arrests of social workers and students demonstrating further evidence that they do not speak for, or represent Iranian social workers.

- We request the International Federation of Social Work are vocal about the 44-year persecution of the ethical standards of the social work profession in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Moreover, we request that IFSW refrain from creating a platform for providing Iranian Social Work Associations legitimacy due to their neutrality towards persecution, crime, and imprisonment of social workers, innocent children, and other people.

- While condemning the killing of children, the defenseless and oppressed men and women of Iran have protested to express their rightful demands. We demand the support of social work supervisors, non-governmental organizations, and the heads of university social work groups to speak out about the Iranian people's movement and join our demand for the unconditional release or cancellation of any sentence against social workers and social work students in Iran.

- We ask the professors of social work inside and outside of Iran do not to remain silent. We ask that those within the profession have hope of reforming the 44 years of the structural violence of the Islamic regime. We kindly ask them to support the Iranian movement by canceling classes, discussing the Iranian people’s movement in the curriculum, and supporting the students' movement at universities.

Last but not least, we invite all social workers inside and outside Iran who follow the standards of their profession and have dedicated their entire careers to promoting justice and freedom, to join the Iranian people’s movement and be their voice
