They actually listened and are putting in the lights and new markings starting next week which just blows my mind because I really thought they would ignore us forever. I kept staring at the email wondering if I read it right but it is definitely happening so please just keep …

Highway 31 between Waco and Dawson has two dangerous intersections. One at Heritage Parkway and one at FM 939. There have been numerous accidents as there are only stop signs and the intersection at Heritage Parkway comes suddenly as drivers approach. The accidents in this area do include fatalities. Both intersections are in need of at least flashing lights. This is a high traffic area. Speeds on Highway 31 approaching these intersections are 75 miles per hour. These intersections need to be upgraded with flashing lights, increased signage as well as road markings. Near the city of Dawson, any truck with a trailer is at risk of hydroplaning when it rains. Multiple accidents have occurred here as well during wet weather. The wear on the highway makes it too slick with even with a small amount of rain. We are asking that TxDOT give Highway 31 in this area immediate attention and to take measures to increase safety on Highway 31 between Waco and Dawson.

I honestly never thought we would get this much traction when I first started typing this out in my kitchen. It is wild to see how many people are feeling the exact same way about those intersections because honestly I was terrified I was just overreacting to the road conditions.

I just checked the count and we are almost at one hundred signatures which is honestly wild because I barely thought anyone would notice this but here we are. If you could just ping your neighbor or whoever drives that stretch of Highway 31 from Waco to Dawson maybe we can actually hit that mark before I send this off to TxDOT today. It feels like we have some real momentum now and I really dont want to lose that speed.

The intrsections of HWY 31 and Heritage Parkway as well as 31 and FM 939 both need overpasses to remedy the danger that exists. I know that is costly, but how does that cost compare to the loss of one life let alone the many we've already lost?

My family and I travel through this intersection multiple times each day, to and from school, along with several of our school buses. Please make it safe for us!

An overpass is needed at Hwy 31 and Heritage Pkwy. Since April 2019, 6 deaths have occurred here. With speed limit of 75mph on 31, cars appear quickly from around the curve and hill.

We have been told many of time that this would be fixed and still nothing but they can come through the same area and work on the roads but not put lights up... I drive 31 every single day.. something needs to be done asap!

I have had so many wrecks in front of my house near Dawson I have lost count of them. We have counted 6 wrecks one right after another in one evening during a rain storm; that wasn’t counting the ones that happened while we were not at home. Why did someone have to die before they started to do something. So heart breaking.

My husband lost his life at Hwy31/Heritage Pkwy (2311), caused by a driver running the stop sign. Flashing lights are must at both this intersection and at County Line Rd.

TxDOT, stop giving excuses and get the bridges built! TXDOT has put in 2 bridges east of Hubbard. But it crosses over a barely used "dirt" road! Really WTF?
