Incoming Intern ACLS Reimbursement
Our CIR union contract states that the University will provide ACLS for INITIAL and RE-certification training at no cost to residents' if it is a required certification by the University. At this time the Internal Medicine program is unwilling to honor article 7 of our contract stating that incoming residents are not employees and do not qualify for this benefit. They claim incoming interns need to complete ACLS PRIOR to their start date and therefore will not be reimbursed. This is in violation of the current contract.
We demand that the University provide options for incoming residents to either receive ACLS training reimbursement or an ACLS group course during orientation
Please sign and circulate this petition with IM residents to ensure that our new Interns receive this benefit as outlined in our contract. We strive to resolve this violation informally by June 10th 2022. Thank you for your support.
