Petition to the Education Secretary, to Reflect True English History by Including Black Tudors in the National Curriculum

I'll the future Africans in Britain to know about their past in these Isles. By knowing the true historical make up of these shores one's able to navigate through life with a sense of purpose and urgency.

Hope this really goes through. The children need to know their history.

you need to be able to destroy the history of a people to enable you to control them and mould them to your wishes, the government are aware of this,it's their ancestors who implemented this ideas

Absolutely agree 100%. My son is currently learning about the Tudors and it's sickens me that Africans have been completely omitted from the era! The omission is outrageous and needs to be addressed.

Let's stop pretending that African's do not have their own fantastic history.b

I am enrolled in a Black Arts Movement class and there is so much I did not know about my history. I am black and I am developing my true voice. Educating students on their cultural history is IMPERATIVE.

A true & balanced history should be taught that reflects all of society. It is a must for our children to become citizens with a knowledge understanding & an appreciation of the positive contribution of not just themselves but other nations & thus a more open mind to that of their emerging community too.

The time is now, better late than never!

It is time to make British history complete.

I do not believe young people should be deprived of the truth. England is a multicultral society and all race,religion and cultures should be respected and reflected within the curriculum.

I was born and school in the uk, I disliked history as it only taught a white supremacy against the black race as savages and enslavement.

This should have happened years ago. We and society should be ashamed that in 2014 we are only now petitioning for it to happen.

This book is important historical and it is essential that it becomes part of the school curriculum

His-story should also be our story - real inclusive history is called for.

The inclusion of African Tudors to the National Curriculum is imperative, not least, to the expansion of knowledge and a more accurate depiction of a defining period within British History, but also to render a generation of Black Britons who will feel more inclusive than exclusive.
