With inclusion of students with special needs becoming more popular in schools, general education teachers are woefully unprepared to have these children in their classrooms, simply because they have not had an adequate amount of disability-related coursework (including practicums) in their college undergraduate experience. Signing this petition will show our PA State Government just how pertinent this issue is and call for a reform of the college undergraduate education requirements of those majoring in general education at state schools. This petition calls for mandating three Special Education undergraduate courses: 401 Classroom and Behavior Management, 454 Assessment, and 411 Students with Severe Disabilities.
