The UKA framework from 2020-32 for 'athletics unified' is satire at this point: “Goals set for Athletics in the United Kingdom to have a finalist in every Athletics event in 2032” “Ensuring every athlete and coach has a clear pathway to elite performance.” “Create more development opportunities for talented home country athletes to compete at international level.” "We need to offer the right levels of competition at every stage of the pathway..." Yes, there are no development pathways for combined events. European combined events cup was stripped, as were national championships now. So, how will athletes cross the gap from being strong juniors to elite championship level competitors? Nobody is going to score 8460 / 6480 in the decathlon / heptathlon overnight to qualify for a worlds or olympics, especially when you sap the culture

Leaving out combined events from major champs not only is discouraging for up and coming multi eventers but it is damaging to the senior athletes who deserve the same opportunities as individual event athletes at competing for national medals.

British Athletics consistently ignore multi eventers, it’s an absolute shambles and totally rude to these amazing athletes, British Athletics should be ashamed of themselves!!!!

Combined Events should be encouraged more at clubs and athletes should be given the opportunity to compete at all major competitions in combined events . In readiness for major competitions like all other athletes. Combined event athletes should be given the same opportunities as all other athletes.
