The Wellington City Council is writing a business case to investigate the costs and benefits of renting Panda's from China. The cost of this is likely to be very high. We believe that one of the options in that Business Case should be to commission the building of Robotic Pandas against the option of renting real Pandas.
The cost is likely to be lower, it reflects our high-tech city, it will not exploit endangered animals, and is likely to attract just as many tourists.

Better money spent than wasting it on the runway extension! I guess the Mayor will soon tell us we need it to bring the real pandas in from China...
There could be a European market for these too.

100% Behind this. Imagine replacing the daily feeding with Middle earth battle pandas or dance battles. The Chinese would love dance battles.
