Dear Media10
Petition to include the following people as guests for any
Destination Star Trek London event in 2016: Doug Drexler, Dorothy Duder,
Michael Okuda, Denise Okuda, Rick Sternbach, John Eaves, Douglas E. Graves,
Andrew Probert.
I have attended both Destination Star Trek conventions held
in London, along with hundreds of my Facebook, Twitter and blog
followers. The guests that you have managed to book over both London conventions
and the one in Frankfurt have been impressive, and we are aware that any cancellations are
beyond your control.
As much as we all enjoy meeting our favourite stars from in
front of the camera, there is a very large proportion of Trekkies who have
equal, if not, more love for those guys that work behind the scenes.
In the past you have presented to us people such as Ronald
D. Moore, Rick Berman, Larry Nemecek and most recently, Nicholas Meyer.
Many of us fans, particularly those that dabble or who are very proficient
at re-creating the artwork seen in the various series of Star Trek, are in
contact on Facebook, and other social media forums, with a handful of people that
worked on The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise, people
who designed the sets, the ships, the graphics and the costumes, even the food
that was prepared for some of the scenes.
These people include Doug Drexler and
his wife Dorothy, Doug was a make-up artist on TNG and moved to DS9 as
Illustrator, while Dorothy prepared any on-screen meals.
Rick Sternbach, the guy behind the design of many starships,
including the USS Voyager, Douglas E. Graves, John Eaves, Andrew Probert and of
course Michael Okuda and his wife Denise. None of these guys have ever been
invited to the United Kingdom, and which is something they would all like to
do, they just need to be asked.
As Star Trek celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2016, many
of the actors and those behind the camera are due to descend on Las Vegas, in
what promises to be a huge event, organised by Creation Entertainment. It would
be expected, when you consider the achievement of Star Trek reaching this
milestone, and with the popularity of the Destination Star Trek brand, that
Media10 would host a similar event, at its home in London in 2016, and we, the
undersigned have petitioned that the aforementioned people be invited to any
such show.
We feel that having these guests attend when Star Trek
reaches its 50th anniversary, would be a huge boost to any line up that you may already
be trying to organise. We know from at least two guests that attended the 2014
event that they have already been asked to attend another DST in 2016, so
please, invite these guys to London in 2016, they really want to come, we
really want them to come, and if you would like to have the biggest Star Trek
event Europe has ever seen, then really, you want them to come too.
Thanks for reading this petition, and we hope you decide to
pursue this to its logical conclusion.

I would like to add Ira Steven Behr to the list, he's great at creating and developing characters and I would love to meet him. Also bringing Larry Nemecek again would be nice.
