So many locals are required to travel great distances just to skate. Darkside is the only place to skate now that Georgetti is gone. The town needs this and it will attract people from out of town to boost local economy.

The town is blowing it without including a Killington town skatepark in the master plan. We NEED a skate park.

As someone who grew up in killington, and a skater and a snowboarder, I know more than anyone the need for this skatepark in killington. I even myself once petitioned to the town for one because it will save so many kids from hard times and give one of the healthiest outlets for kids to grow, learn and cope. It creates a community that is FAR more inclusive than "after school programs", "organized team sports", or anything else general society provides. Skateboarding is not only an art form, but a way for kids to understand themselves better. Its a simple solution to create a new safe place for people and kids to work out and put their energy into it.

As a former employee of Killington parks and recreation and an active member of the community I agree that Killington’s residents and visitors would make great use of a public skatepark.

A skate park should be included in the plan due to it provides an escape for the youth to express themselves, also I highly doubt the youth are able to see this petition yet have an email or a way to sign it so take care of the ones who will take care of you in the future !
