I have known Rav Yosef Dweck for 13 years. He is a man of immense wisdom and passion, who is devoted to the service of his Creator and the dissemination of His law among our nation. Our community in particular has benefited immeasurably from the rabbi's Torah, and the loss we stand to suffer if he is prevented from visiting us this summer or at any time would similarly be of tragic proportions. May God grant our leaders the strength and courage to uphold the Torah and its bearers, and to enrich our community with a variety of stimulating teachers whose creativity and innovation signal that Torah is live and well in our congregation.

Who said anyone is interested in hearing all opinions, especially yours? You clearly are in the group that is in support of shutting Rabbi Dweck down and not hearing what he has to say. So maybe you should stick to your close minded witch hunting group and stay out of this one.

While I don't agree with everything that Rabbi Dweck said, I stand behind him. Knowing his style of speaking and his way of thought, I believe that he exaggerated a few of his points and generalized where perhaps he should have spoken more specifically. He obviously didn't intend for his sweeping generalizations to be taken literally. He has clarified many issues recently. Many of the criticisms about his lecture were taken out of context and some were outright misrepresentations. It seems that the opposing Rabbis, at least the outspoken ones, have an axe to grind with Rabbi Dweck. They should have ironed out the issues with him directly instead of murdering him.
Whoever knows Rabbi Dweck's style understands his message. That being said, I believe that Rabbi Dweck is a God fearing man of truth. I've learned a lot from him through the years and I can say that he has added and contributed plenty to the community at large. I urge the opposing Rabbis to sit down with Rabbi Dweck and deal with this issue face to face, instead of airing their grievances in the public domain.
To Rabbi Dweck I say, be strong and don't let this destroy your life mission.

It is due time that someone in this community brought up important is issues such as those discussed by Rabbi Doueck. There must be a network of support for each and every individual in the community regardless of sexual orientation. No one should feel shunned or have to live a lie for that matter. When one person lives the lie to conform to our norms, we are the ones who will pay for it at the end. We must embrace leaders like Rabbi Dweck Who is pretty much risking his career to ensure this topic is brought to light and something is done about it. I fully support Rabbi Doueck and admire his dedication.

I support open dialogue on all issues. Ideological fanaticism and character bashing has never been the Sephardic way.
The rabbi is a true leader in every way!
