Sharing feminist views should be a right and compassionately considered, extremists of all kinds seek to shut down those with whom they disagree, showing themselves to be narrow minded, judgemental, and self-absorbed. Only their opinion matters regardless of the facts.

In light of recent events in America it is even more urgent that we support the notion of free speech and speak out against such targeted harassment.

Joanne is a hero. She has done more to inspire children to read than anyone else alive. She has spoken with conviction, compassion and from experience that the rights of women not only “merit some attention”, as Burns put it, but need to be articulated and protected.
