Thanks JK for not pandering to this regressive ideology masquerading as left-wing politics. I stand for lesbians, women, children and anyone who agrees that people not conforming to gender stereotypes should be supported as they are and not pathologised for profit.

As a woman I will never turn my back nor the women strong enough to take on a world steeped in hatred for women, even just for speaking. JK ROWLING has every right to make a stand and if we really are a democracy then her willingness to do so should be a nonissue. I will not turn my back on her now because she did not abandon Woman like so many others have.

Dehumanizing and forceably silencing others over ideological differences is not acceptable no matter what you believe. Women have been the target of millennia of abuse, simply for being born biological women; it is shameful that even as far as humanity has come, so many still look the other way when a woman is singled out and abused for standing up for what she believes. There is no excuse for such behavior, no matter the cause. And for people who claim to seek equality and tolerance to be so intolerant and demeaning to another is the height of hypocrisy. We must strive for acceptance, tolerance, and peace between all sexes, races, and creeds, and always, ALWAYS protect our freedom to speak (or write) our beliefs without fear.
