The abuse this woman has received for speaking the truth and trying to support women is a disgrace.

Glad to see people finally seeing through this madness. I fully support what JKR said - live, love and dress how you wish, but sex matters.

I urge people to do two things. Read exactly what JKR said herself, not what others say she said. Read all the hateful, spiteful, cruel, threatening replies to her.

Joanne Rowling's biggest crime has been to openly tell the truth. As a woman, in our society, as ever, this is a terrible thing that must be stamped out with accusations of 'bigot', 'hate' and '-phobia'. This tells you all you need to know about the position of women in society.

It is never ok to bully. Nobody “asks” to be bullied. There is never an excuse to bully anyone. It is never ok to threaten and or encourage rape and death threats. Sex is real. Stereotypes are harmful. Conversion therapy abhorrent. Bullying despicable.

For showing true courage and humanity when difficult questions must be asked, for speaking out to protect women and girls, thank you JKR.

JKR opened my eyes to the consequences that esp. women and girls would have to face if we followed the current trend of replacing sex with gender. She did this without resorting to derogatory or hateful words - just words of reason and empathy. Maybe that's why her message was even more convincing from the very start.

The online attacks and vitriol towards J K Rowling has been unfair and absolutely abhorrent. It’s disgusting that a woman speaking out for woman’s rights and their need for safe spaces, has been subjected to absolute hate and threats of rape and death - thus proving just how vulnerable women still are in today’s society and our need for brave women like J K Rowling to continue to shine light on the misogyny that’s so readily acceptable still today. I stand with J K Rowling and I thank her for her bravery and strength.
