Thank you to JKR. More important than ever to stand up for the rights of women. More important than ever to stand up for reasoned, nuanced debate about complex and sensitive issues. More important than ever to remember the difference between reasoned debate and hatred, whether in speech or action – not to do so insults all genuine victims of hatred. More important than ever to read beyond the tweet, the headline or the review and make up your own mind before rushing to condemn.

Strongly support this effort to push back against such organised abuse of anyone who doesn't subscribe to certain agenda-based viewpoints. Freedom of expression is a core tenet of democracies and these bullies are working systematically to rob us of this freedom through this rabid 'cancel culture'.

The DSM V criteria for diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria needs a massive overhauling. Evidence based approach & compassion needs to be the approach in dealing with the rapid onset dysphoria among vulnerable young adults. Thanks to J.K. Rowling for drawing attention of medical fraternities around the world about a phenomenon previously ignored/ dismissed. Proper scientific research without being subject to intimidation will safeguard the interests of patients, guardians & doctors.

If it's hate speech to say that sex exists and that being female matters to women, then we're in trouble. JK Rowling has expressed nothing but kindness towards trans people, and bullying and misogyny directed at her basically for not agreeing with an ideological viewpoint has been shocking. #IStandWithJKRowling

We must get back to making laws, rules and regulations based scientific and biological facts about sex and gender not based on the feelings of the individual.

Thank you to JKR for speaking up, truthfully and compassionately for women and girls. She uses her voice when so many are afraid. She will not be silenced. We will not be silenced.
