I stand with JK

Reading JKRowling’s essay and a detailed book review makes it clear that there is no transphobia, now a devalued word. She expresses compassion and a desire to hear all voices, and has been attacked, threatened and oppressed for sharing thoughts and opinions. We all have a right to speak without being silenced and attacked. RIP JKR was the absolute nadir, and so reminiscent of Rushdie’s fatwa.

I deplore all discrimination, including that of trans people, but women need a voice and women’s lived experience needs to be heard. We cannot silence women standing up for women’s rights.

Freedom of speech is important, and so is simple science.

I stand with JKR ❤️ The online abuse she has suffered in the defence of women’s rights is intolerable. The silencing, cancelling deplatforming of women will not stand. Enough was enough a long time ago.
