‘This witch doesn’t burn’, but we should not live in a society where the flames of vitriol and misogyny be directed at a woman who dares to speak. JKR pointed out the complexities of an issue, and called for nuanced discussion, whilst demonstrating compassion, empathy and integrity. Her voice, and the countless others struggling to be heard, deserve to express their views. We live in a society where the needs and rights of all must be considered, in order to do that freedom of speech must be preserved at all costs.
