I've been appalled but unsurprised to see the attacks on JK Rowling, particularly as I'm familiar with and agree with the points she has made over the last year with regards to women's rights. She speaks with compassion and thoughtfulness, and yet those who seek to silence her often refuse to even read her words.
I have stood with her previously and stand with her now.
She made the world of difference for speaking out as a public voice when so many of us standing up for women's rights with little voice felt abandoned by those with a louder voice than ours.
Thank you to those others with louder voices who are joining this stand now.

JK Rowling has said no more than what I also believe: I support trans people to live their lives, but don't support the political gender ideology which is letting down trans people, gay people, and women. The female sex has unique needs, and acceptance of same sex attraction must not be erased. To politically erase the naming of sex based oppression takes our power away to fight it.
