I Stand With JK Rowling and all women who face the threat of violence, derision & gaslighting for speaking to their shared experience informed by biological sex and all those who fight for women's rights to be maintained and safeguarded.

Transwomen are not women, they are transwomen. JKR is correct – there are conflicts of rights between women and transwomen.

Everybody knows that males who identify as women, are, always have been and always will be male, regardless of surgery and hormones. No male will ever be a woman or a lesbian. Women and girls deserve and need single sex spaces away from ALL males for our safety, dignity and privacy. Two girls were sexually assaulted by a male (transwoman) in Fife. The assaults occurred in women's supermarket toilets. This must never be allowed to happen again. Nobody asked women and girls if we wanted males in OUR spaces. Thousands of us want single sex spaces. That means biological sex, NOT ''legal'' sex - which is a legal fiction and ID fraud. Lesbians deserve spaces free from heterosexual and bisexual males who identify as women. Many of us now avoid all LGBT groups etc as we do not want males who find our sexual orientation just a fetish, in our presence. J K Rowling stands for our rights to single sex spaces, and I stand with J K Rowling.

Rowling's observation was based on irrefutable biological truth. People who wish to live as another gender, with or without surgery, have that prerogative, it is not what she was referring to. At present only a biological female is equipped to menstruate - not 'people' - in the future medical science may develop procedures that facilitate 'people' to menstruate, currently and factually 'people' can't. End of.

Nuanced debate and respect should be common, no one should be subjected to vitriolic abuse and hate that JK Rowling has had to endure. If not for her stature and means, what would have happened to this woman? If people will treat her in such a horrid way, then they will do it to any woman. This thinly veiled misogyny has no place in the world.

There's no such thing as gender, and humans literally cannot change sex. Yes, we need to be compassionate to those who struggle in their bodies, but compassion goes both ways. Where's the compassion for every woman who's been scared out of a refuge, beaten unfairly in sports, and driven out of womens groups and identities by men? Thank you JKR and others for speaking up.
