I do not even read her books or watch her movies. No woman should be silenced for talking about our biological realities that we did not choose for ourselves. JK is no exception!

Sex is a reality and to deny this is to reverse the fight for women’s rights and equality. Thank you for standing up against misogyny and hate. There is room for everyone in this world - but natal women’s freedoms, rights and spaces must not be lost.

I absolutely support women and girls (human females) just as does JK Rowling. Misogyny under a new face of transgender activism is still misogyny. Why do people validate males’ fear of other males in men’s spaces, but then invalidate females’ fear of males in women’s spaces?

I'm seeing many positive comments here, which is understandable considering this petition is in support of JK Rowling's "honesty" and "courage". I personally am not emotionally attached to her books or the Harry Potter series, but I respect her as an author and as a woman who has managed to achieve such great fame, and who can talk freely about feminism. However, that's where my praises for her end. Lots of comments are preaching about "women's rights" and "having an open discussion" about trans identities, and although I agree with these needing a light shed upon them, I do not believe that JK Rowling is doing this in a healthy way. After much research, it actually seems that she is not only doing more harm than good, but that she is being outright transphobic. She has literally claimed that trans women are taking other women's jobs, which is ridiculous, as this argument relies on the assumption that trans women should not be considered women. If you are a commenter, or even a supporter of JK Rowling who thinks this kind of behaviour is okay, then I suggest you do your own research on not only the treatment of women who were born with XX chromosomes (and by the way, science proves there are more than two genders so the biological standpoint is outdated), but also women who have transitioned. JK Rowling also said that the existence of trans women somehow erases the feminist movement, which I fully disagree with. Trans women are women too, and although they do not have as long of a history of activism and victimhood, their voices still deserve to be heard, as trans women are more targeted for assaults and murders than women of the biological sex from birth. I am someone who advocates for everyone having their own opinion on something, as long as it is educated and does not harm anyone. However, JK Rowling has not followed through with either of these. She does not do the proper research about trans women and their struggles, an
