Sex denialism (in favour of gender) removes women's rights; JK knows we cannot name sex-based oppression around the world if gender trumps sex. JKR is a hero for speaking up in a climate of bullying against women who do.

Our government/ our politicians/ our business leaders/our civil servants have roles that might mean talking to lobbyists but their job is to to weigh up what an activist wants “activated”. You’d think there would be some moderation, critical thinking, other view points and so on not total capitulation. This needs an urgent public enquiry so it can’t happen again. The abuse heaped on ordinary women as well as JKR is scandalous. The harm caused to our young people even more so. Evil happens when good people do nothing. That more people are speaking out is a major relief for so many. JKR, Maya Forstator and so many others who refused to stay quiet as this scandal unfolded are heroes

Standing up for sex-based rights is not transphobic. These rights are enshrined in UK law and must be maintained, as must freedom of speech.

The misogynistic bullying and threats of rape, violence & death that women like J.K. Rowling receive merely for stating an opinion has to STOP.

Online hate speech against women, inlcuding threats of violence and sexual violence, is often ignored, creating a culture of intimidation and fear for women who have different views (which is precisely the intention). This needs to stop.
