The vitrol, hate and violence directed at JKR is unacceptable. If women can't campaign for their rights to be protected, without it unleashing a torrent of abuse, then we no longer live in a democratic country. I stand with her, and all who value free speech.

Despite never having read a Harry Potter book, whenever I have seen and listened to JK Rowling on serious programmes I have been impressed by her intellect, competence, general “smarts” and personal strength.
I grew up in the 60’s expanding and enlightened world view, applauded the 1967 Sexual Offences Act and have no gender axe to grind.
But the posturing of privileged and entitled people without serious talent challenges or suffering seems risible to me.
I stand with JK.

There are people with true gender dysphoria, but these are extremely few. It is not normal for men to believe they are real women, or for women to believe they are men. The first line of treatment for young people confused about identity should be therapy, & specifically CBT has been shown to facilitate 'detransition'. Not surgery & expensive, health damaging drugs. JK Rowling has greatly helped in standing up for common sense and human wisdom in opposing this algorithm driven youth sub culture that damages lives & the traditions of family & parental guidance in ensuring societal cohesion between generations. To oppose trans ideology is the right thing to do.

My admiration for JK Rowling's courage and steadfastness in the face of vitriolic abuse is unbounded. Women everywhere should know that they have no greater champion.
