We can't let this huge construction take place in our park where we take such care to preserve its natural beauty.

I do believe this beautiful, pristine place, Green cove in Cape Breton Highlands National Park should be preserved. Please do NOT build a monument. There should be other, more appropriate places where this monument can be built.

Let us avoid further national embarrassments, if we can. No more monumental monstrosities, please!

This is a monstrous project, defacing a beautiful part of OUR land in Cape Breton. Stop it.

Cape Breton does not need a statue (aka an eyesore) to show off its beauty!! The cliffs, mountains, seasides, sunsets, animal life (the list goes on) - they speak for themselves!!

This monument contradicts item 4 (1) in the Parks Act: 4. (1) The national parks of Canada are hereby dedicated to the people of Canada for their benefit, education and enjoyment, subject to this Act and the regulations, and the parks shall be maintained and made use of so as to leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations.

This us a terrible idea. We did not ask for a war memorial. Parks are protected oublicly owned spaces, not for private investment. This risks the tourism we have in the area as it will completely detract from the amazing coastal viewplanes. Eyesore. Monstrosity. Terrible idea.

Public land is no place for this kind of privately sponsored project. It is not in keeping with the purpose of national parks in general and especially CB Highlands Park.

Ths is an insult to veterans, an assault on parks and a crass, ego-centric commercial endevor.

Canadian National Parks were never intended to entertain grief., but rather joy, keep mourning out of the parks. It's a little belated to build memorial 75 years after the last war on French territory (where Vimy is.

Let's honour our veterans by using this money to pay for better supports, including access to mental health care. It's ironic and troubling that Cape Breton was chosen as the destination for this monument, given the upheaval on the island when the Veterans Affairs office closed its doors and the then Minister refused to meet with members of that community.

This has nothing to do with honoring veterans and everything to do with destroying a beautiful, important part of our island. Garish, disgusting, waste of money.
