This is a petition for a stop sign on Sheahan Dr. in Dearborn Heights MI. There is a real danger on this street for our young children who play out side in the spring/summer/autumn months. The current speed limit on this street is 25 but can say 90% of the cars drive well above that speed limit with the majority driving 50, 60 and even 70 mph on this stretch of road. We have called the police several times on cars driving too fast. We have even chased cars ourselves and even resorted to screaming at cars that drive too fast but nothing has changed and our concern is when will it change when is it too late . When one of our children is injured or killed by a speeding car while crossing the street or by a car losing control and driving into a group of kids gathered on their front lawn. We have seen cars lose control and end up on lawns or drive around parked cars on lawns. We ask that you put up a stop sign to force drivers to stop and proceed again at 25mph. The perfect spot for this would be at the Amboy and Sheahan intersection. Please support this petition in order to protect our children from speeding cars.
