After the conclusion of the first semester of studies,we the international students at Poznan University of Economics and Business identified the following aspects that we found are below our expectations regarding the overall experience at the university:
1. Lack of direct and transparent communication between the university and the students. For example - lack of information about events, master thesis seminars, access to the official grade system(e-dziekanat).
2. Lack of events, workshops and activities for international students. For example - we see almost every week there is something going on at the university but we feel we are made not aware about it or part of it.
3. Lack of possibility of scholarships for international students.
4. Inefficient selection process. (The university accepts everyone as long as they pay the fees).
5. Infrastructure not adapted to International Students. For example - The computers have program only in Polish and not in English.
6.Career department doesn't support us. (Most of the students were not even aware of the existence of a career department)
7. Lack of communication about Erasmus and other exchange programes.
8. English studies are less demanding than the Polish students. It doesn't filter the good performing students from the poor performing students and doesn't reward the effort of the good students.
9. As students we have absolute no contact to companies through the university.
10. Absolute insignificant amount of English books in the library.
11. Erasmus students have access to more Polish classes to us and the students who already have a good level in Polish are not able to chose another foreign language as part of their curriculum.
We, as students, believe that once these aspects mentioned above are improved, the level of education at the University will benefit exponentially.
Furthermore, we have confidence that improving these aspects will offer the University a long-term vision in their actions, once the quality of the students group will be elevated and more satisfied. After all, we are the representatives of the University at the market, and improving the quality of the education given to the students can not only benefit the students, but also the University.

I just spent the morning reading through all the different experiences you guys have been leaving in the comments and honestly it just confirms that these frustrations are shared by so many of us across different departments. I am still working on drafting a formal letter to the administration because the silence from them is becoming pretty loud and I really want to make sure we have a solid plan before we try to get a meeting scheduled.

Alum speaking. I do agree that the program welcomed everyone and graduated everyone as long as they paid for it. That means the hard-working students, who actually cared, were at the same level of those who showed up at the first and last lectures only. Make the program more challengingly worthwhile and weed out the weaklings.
exactly true no supports to international students , most of the departments are inactive . isn't there any scholarship for international students and Erasmus ideas ???
Some other points to improve: 1. A system where we can see our attendance. 2. Official documents in English (which send by the university) 3. Inform students if they get expelled from the university 4. Improving internal communication between Centre of English Studies, Rectors, Deans and Professors 5. Asking feedback from international students 6. Create English communication points for official documents concerning subjects 7. Hire a person who helps students in a neutral way with situations 8. Keep communicating with students about their situation 9. Reply regularly on emails. 10. Treat students in the same way, don't discriminate persons on who they are (because have a different culture) 11. The board has to check what professors are doing, as at some subjects you don't even have to do exams to pass 12. Give classes in English, instead of Polish. (PE for example).
