Crossing the road is an very day challenge. Just the other day I was almost ran over by a car. I was peering from behind parking cars and didn't see a car coming fast when I started crossing. I was lucky there were no cars coming from the other direction as I had to run to cross the road not to be run over.

My child goes to this school and as a parent and a member of the public I witnessed a man on the 10th of February get knocked down and enjure a serious head injury where I had to administer first aid while we waited for the ambulance to arrive. This was just 20 minutes before our children were due to leave school!! Luckily the gentleman was OK and taken care of but if this had been a child I fear it would of been a different story, the road is a danger and Merton Council need to do something about it and do it now!!

Our kids deserve to be safe when going in and out of the school and park community school it’s located in a very dangerous location. We need more parking for parents to drop and pick up and more sign.

As a local resident I regularly drive past the school and cannot believe there is no added safety provisions for these young children to cross the road

Surely the safety of our children should be a priority on every council's list!

This Road is a Death or serious life changing injury waiting to happen, ridiculous that a junior school just off of a main round and busy cut through has no zebra crossing, shame on you Merton Council for not doing anything sooner.

The Council should do better in safeguarding and protecting kids including pupils in the school and not putting lives in danger.

Please make Dorset road a safe place for our children to cross the road to attend park community school. It is a very busy road and very unsafe for our children to get to school safely.

12.2.20: three mums told me at the school gate today that a few weeks ago they witnessed a year 5 pupil run across Dorset road outside the school to his friend's house. He stepped out as a van was approaching and this has to screech to an emergency halt to avoid him. This was witnessed by atleast three parents. Older children who could be encouraged to have some idependence have absolutely no chance of crossing the road safely.

Dear team
Please take into account this petition. Children’s safety is the most important issue for everyone let alone the council.
Thank you in advance

I fear crossing this road each day. There is rarely a ‘safe’ gap in the traffic to cross and the cars speed down the road so fast. It’s a case of edging out and hoping someone stops and let’s you go. Often if there is a traffic jam, we have to walk between the cars in order to see what’s coming the other way. It’s very unsafe and only a matter of time before there is a serious injury or worse.

The combination of increasing pupil numbers and two adjacent busy junctions with Morden Road and Daybrook Road into Dorset Road make walking our children to/from school increasingly difficult. Please consider proper crossing options before any more accidents occur near our school

I have to risk taking and collecting my children to and from school every day. My children and I were in a very close incident last year, which could have been catastrophic. I have also personally witnessed near misses and crashes on the road. These are hazardous conditions for young children and other pedestrians to navigate, not to mention how stressful it is being a road user having to drive near a school where there is no dedicated crossing point for children. This situation is dangerous and should be adequately addressed before it’s too late.

We are walking to the school every day and it is very dangerous to cross the road: cars never stop to let us go and don't even reduce the speed. Without the doubt we need a proper crossing as school is always busy and I always worry about my son's safety. Proper crossing MUST be done!

We really need road safety measurement in place urgently! We drop our child at Park community school and crossing the road is very dangerous and hazardous. The drivers don't care and zoom past without any consideration that you have a child with you.
