I saw more people skiing at Hiawatha on 01/04/14 than I have ever seen in the 17 years I've lived in the neighborhood. Everyone I encountered asked me if I knew when the trails would be groomed again. There definitely is demand and interest!

Nice to be able to ski close to home for a 3k - 6k skate or classic ski.

stopped skiing at Hiawatha two years ago because the fee was steep for very poor trail conditions. I have been skiing at Fort Snelling 5 times in the last two weeks with my kids and would love to be able to return to using Hiawatha where I could skate while the kids classic but would need to see some effort from the park board.

I live about 2 miles from Hiawatha. It was my go to place until last year when I became extremely frustrated that I paid $45 and the trail was in such poor shape for most of the season. I have been going to the Highland golf course in St. Paul where I can ski on a better maintained trail for free. I am more then willing to pay for the convenience of skiing in Minneapolis, but it is not worth it if the trails aren't maintained.

Love Hiawatha for a quick workout after work. Just 5 minutes from my house.

We really need this facility to be open and for the trail to be groomed. We have lots of skiers in this area-let's do it!

This is my "go to" spot for a quick or relatively easy Nordic ski. I live within bicycling distance of Lake Hiawatha. It is a great place to introduce new skiers to the sport. I fully support the requests listed in this petition.

Both Hiawatha and Powderhorn would be great additions to the x-country gems the twin cities maintains!

Making excercise a little more accessible--especially a great form of it like cross-country skiiing--will help ensure happy, healthy community.

I ski there several times per year especially on week ends, so it would be nice to go indoors and eat.

I ski most frequently at Hiawatha, easy to get to after work. Great stress relief, and an excellent place to get in shape for more challenging trails,

I agree wholeheartedly! Hiawatha is a great small ski area in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. Perfect for this silent sport and the respectful and community minded skiers that use (and will use) it.

I'd love to see more information ... are there ski rentals?, a survey to determine best club house times on weekends, perhaps something for the family sledders (so they would know when there is hot chocolate), etc.
