Close the "philosophic objection" loophole to vaccination in PA

Childhood immunization is imparative to an overall life long health.

WIth three of my 5 kids having different special needs- two of whom are on the autism spectrum, I still PASSIONATELY endorse and support vaccination! As Head of School at a private elementary school I am very committed to do what we can to keep our children and the wider community healthy and safe.

Vaccines can be credited with large improvements in health and well-being. We need herd immunity for them to be effective on a public health scale.

The health, and in some cases the lives, of Pennsylvania's children depend on the continued prevention of highly contagious and serious diseases with high rates of immunization with well studied, safe vaccines. When people opt out because they have been influenced by junk science, conspiracy theorists, and frauds (thank you Mr. Wakefield- he has been stripped of his medical license), it puts some of our most vulnerable citizens risk of death. Kids who can get vaccinated but don't can transmit lethal infections to kids who, because of legitimate medical issues, cannot be vaccinated themselves. The vaccination program has worked so well that people have forgotten the devastation these preventable illnesses cause. Please help to protect them and all of Pennsylvania's kids!

Vaccines should be mandatory unless there is a legitimate medical contraindication. It is appalling that we even need to have this conversation since the science on this matter was settled decades ago. The need to preserve public health takes precedence over ignorance-fed fears. Vaccines save lives.

Epidemics will occur if vaccine rates fall.
