This is a petition to show who wants the 3d animation teaching improved at the university of Hertfordshire.
We are being given rigs that are 10 years old and teaching material that hasn't been updated in a decade, We believe that the 3D animation teaching should be as high of a standard as the rest of the courses teaching. This currently is not the case. Please sign if you are a 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year or alumni.
We currently do not have useable reference materials for 3D animation.
We also do not have lecture recordings if you cant attend.
There are also no proctors to help our during lessons.
We want this to change so that new animators can be inspired rather than discouraged.

ive been reading all your stories about using those outdated rigs and it honestly makes me so frustrated for all of us. im currently putting together a formal document to show the department exactly how behind we are on these basic resources. stay tuned because i wont let this drop until we get the tools we actually need to succeed.

im honestly so blown away by how many people are jumping on board with this. seeing everyone talk about the same frustrations with these old rigs proves we really are all in the same boat here.

Graduating with an animation degree, but can't actually animate; sounds about right.
The reference material in particular is really difficult to use, and all the rigs need updating/like to break.
I believe that all methods of teaching, Whether it be 3D, VFX, Games etc, should be updated and more provided when it comes to finishing the degree and advancing into Industry instead of old and not so up-to-date assets.
These guys need some help, especially for first year

There was a similar petition about 2 years ago asking for this exact same thing. UH Animation is genuinely world class and something as easy to fix as new rigs and lecture recordings would be a great start on keeping all aspects of the course at the best level they can be.
