This is a petition to show the opposition to the existing proposed development of Imperial House in Alma Road, Windsor.

Application number 10/00820.

We believe this is over-development of the site, being 5 times the size of the existing building. We are concerned about the potential increase in traffic on already busy roads with the existing parking issues in the town. It adjoins one of Windsor's conservation areas and will be completely out of place. 94 trees willl be felled to accommodate the development.

There are four other developments approved or underway in close proximity, which will impact on the highways.

Local planning policy 1999-2003 states that ' unacceptable traffic generation should not occur due to a proposal...'

Helen Leonard from the RBWM Tree Team is unhappy about the number of trees affected and says that the proposal is contrary to planning policy N6 and DG1.

Jonathan Howe from RBWM Leisure Services Unit has concerns about the visual impact of the site which is 'out of sorts with its setting' and asks for further assessments.

The local police submitted that it will increase crime in the area as it will be open to Vansittart park.

Philip Turner of RBWM Environmental Protection says that he has 'grave concerns about the impact of the development..the proposals will lead to a significant increase in pollution..'

Please sign if you would like to oppose this planning application.

The application is due to be considered by the Windsor Development Control Panel on Wednesday 7th July 2010 at 7pm in Main Chamber, Guildhall, High Street, Windsor. Please attend if you can. Thank you.
