Immediate Reinstatement of Randy Burgess

The superintendent’s actions have demonstrated his lack of understanding of the district policies. Further, no charges were filed by the district attorney because they found no credible evidence to the claim. After 30 years at CHS there would have been others who came forward if there was anything to this claim. Coach Burgess’ name has been tarnished by the poor decisions of the superintendent and school board. They owe him a public apology.

Coach Burgess was maybe the best coach that has ever coached me. He always encouraged me to do my best and always helped me with water polo and I am grateful to him because he has made me a better player and person.

After my parents, Randy Burgess was the most influential person in my life.

The CUSD has made a grave mistake in ruining the life and reputation of someone who has done so much for our community over 34 years with an excellent record. I support Randy 100% and will use my voting voice to show it next school board election! I want to see Randy reinstated to the classroom and I want some accountability for how and why this was so improperly and unjustly handled. Please show up to the October 19 school board meeting to show Randy your support in person!!!

Thanks to Coach Burgess, I graduated CHS in 2000 and received a full ride to play at a division 1 college. Immediately after graduating, I began working for a prominent Bay Area land development/construction company. I have been employed with this company for the past 13 years thanks to the values instilled in me by Coach Burgess.

Please reinstate Mr. Burgess. There is no reason to deprive the students of his teaching and coaching.

As a teacher of 27 years in Coronado I have always looked up to Randy as an example of a true educator, who is an internationally recognized coach. All threw of our children became Division 1 All-Americans, got great college education and learned many life experiences from Randy. He is number 3 in raising our children behind only mom and dad. Thank you Randy

Randy was an excellent coach and role model for our two sons, and taught them life skills that have helped them to have very successful, happy, and productive lives.

Randy Burgess worked with my children as they went through Coronado schools during the same timeframe as the allegations. Randy had very clear boundaries with students and never did anything inappropriate. I believe in Randy and he needs to be reinstated immediately.

I went to Coronado elementary, middle and high schools. Graduated in 2003, known Randy almost my entire life, I feel that he deserves the respect of the community and the school district. He has been a staple of the community and a true champion of the students he teaches.
