These are critical front line workers who make a significant impact in the lives of mothers and have the potential to reduce maternal disparities. This should be enacted now!!

If Pa is still giving a mother a choice to discontinue her baby’s life during this crisis, she should be given the choice to have the baby in the safety of her home as well!

Babies have been born for centuries outside of hospitals. And those birthing children during the Covid19 pandemic deserve a CHOICE to not expose their brand new lives to this virus, as well as a chance to not further overwhelm the hospitals. While complications can arise, and it's best to have a knowledgeable and experienced team on hand, to help ease any stress on mom and baby, why not give those families the best chance, and more options, to have a professional who is prepared to make their stay at home birth as healthy and risk free as possible?

This could be beneficial for a lot of families especially at a time like this.

I am 8 months pregnant in NY and my insurance company will not fully compensate my midwife even though 1. Hospitals are not safe right now 2. Hospitals are overburdened 3. We have been ordered to STAY HOME and 4. I am healthy, birth is normal and it should be my right
