"Otherness" at IMC in Leeds: An Open Letter

I hope IMC will address the concerns presented in this petition. As a first time presenter at the IMC conference 2018 & an MOC inclusion is important issue for me and numerous young scholars

We need to keep history as factual as we can and not let bullies denigrate other academics or the truth.

As a clasically trained actress and historical novelist, diverse history is factual history. Solely white-centric European history, as if people of color weren't invented, is false history and a dangerous, harmful narrative.

These organizers and everyone else listed in Helen Young's excellent MedievalFail post should be permanently barred from participating in our field in any way. We need to block their attempts to promote intolerance and to silence the most important voices in medieval studies
