Our family fully support this soldier and want to thank him for his service and his dedication to his training, without men and women like him, we are in for a scary Australia if our soldiers are condemned for wanting to better at their job.

What does it say about our community if we punish someone who is actively trying to better themselves and serve the country. It is also sad that the community can't even recognise the uniform that is worn by serving members doing the jobs normal people run away from.

give a bloke a fair go huh! maybe it could be called an error of judgement but his intentions were honorable he just wants to be in a position that he is capable of staying safe and keeping those around him safe so he can serve his country. It isn't rocket science

This is truly stupid. How can it be a crime for a soldier to do physical training in Uniform carrying ballast to represent the conditions he will in. The devil makes mad those he wishes to destroy. You really are mad.

The arrest of this Australian Soldier who was engaged in nothing more than training to maintain and/or improve his level of Physical and Mental Fitness is absurd. Nicholas along with thousands of other young Australian men and women are prepared to put their lives on the line for their country when required. Lifting weights and running on a treadmill in an air conditioned gymnasium looking at your reflection in a full length mirror will not give you the edge on the battlefield that just may save your and the lives of your section in that moment of crisis. The only way to achieve that is to train hard in all weather conditions and all types of terrain. Service men and women are required to make split second decisions under stress. They achieve this by training hard. If a conviction is handed down for what is nothing more than an error in judgement by the civilian curtain twitchers that incorrectly reported this incident, then the lifetime career ambitions of this fine Australian Soldier will be wrongly tarnished for the remainder of his Military career and life. Who knows what outstanding achievements he may be denied due to an unfair ruling. Yes, slap him on the wrist for a minor incident but PLEASE, PLEASE give the bloke a fair go. That is all I ask. Thankyou.
