Ok, I get the person who reported it may have been unsure and called Police.. But the Police and the Judiciary are morons! If we were in Aptil, I would be convinced this is an April Fools Joke, but unfortunately it's not. Seriously, with decisions like this, is it any wonder our Police struggle to get respect and the Legal System considered a joke! I've been a Regular Soldier and a Police Officer so I have views from both sides of the equation.. The Police who attended were wrong, and the Magistrate is an embarrassment. This is a dark day for Australia..

Soliders unable to train with a weighted bar is bad. A person not recognising their own military personel in their own country is worse

100% support mate, would the police arrest a boy for playing with a toy gun in his front yard, no, same logic.

This bloke was training in order to better serve Australia. Now he is being used to serve short-sighted political objectives. Why?

This incident dent was handled poorly and unfairly in my opinion. I have no problem with police responding en mass to what would have been a quite alarming initial call out. My problem is with the media sensationalising this event and in my opinion action must seen to be done. When in my opinion once the truth was revealed a media statement could have been made. The soldier driven home or allowed we'd to continue without offending article and everyone moved on.

If a soldier training in his own time is convicted by his own countrymen, there is a major problem in this country.

To be punished for wanting to be the best you can be and serve your country at the highest level is a disgrace to the memory of all this who have given everything for this country

A soldier should not be prosecuted for doing his duty, especially in the country he has sworn to defend..
