This charge is a gross exaggeration of the event. The public nuisance charge is not appropriate as the alledged weapon was easily identifiable as a training aide. The police service over-reacted and the judge doubly so.

As a retired Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM), I cannot for the life of me understand what these 'politically correct' boofheads are trying to achieve? This young soldier is trying to better his fitness and skills in the defense of Australia - his and our homeland. What the hell is wrong with that I ask?? Good onya Digger, keep at it - you have my respect!!

As a retired Air Force officer, I heartily support this young man and query the common sense of the magistrate.
