How can we respect our troops and have this injustice occur. So that he could be a better soldier he trained in his own time. Whatever threat anyone percieved, there was actually none.

and you want more young men to sign up. You have got to be kidding. Where is the support that these young men need. How can he be a gunman, he carried no gun. The public are first to call on the army if anything goes wrong. Support our men in uniform.

This is a massive overreaction if I've ever seen one, A soldier should be able to train for selection without the fear of having criminal charges laid and having his career ruined
Our troops should have the full support of our government and citizens for the sacrifices they make daily.

I am an Australian Soldier and a proud PTI, it disgusts me that more and more restraints are being placed on soldiers at their jobs and in their training.

The public should Know and recognise the uniform that serves them and their country! And QPS should have shown better judgement in dealing with this. What a joke it has come to this.

They need to realise it's the dedicated ones who go that bit extra like training on your holidays that we will need to keep us safe we should be thanking him not charging him wake up!

This Soldier was training carrying a battle weight .. Completely harmless and the reaction by the people calling in to the police was totally unjustified.. Do not allow this mans career to be destroyed by the actions of a few " hippies" ... If convicted he will have to justify why he should remain in the Defence Force !!

What an absolute waste of taxpayers money and QPS QDPP resources, this digger should be commended on taking the initiative to maintain his high level of readiness as part of his dedication to his service and not punished.
Stand tall and proud mate you ARE a hero and will ALWAYS be respected.
It's time the Chief of Army took a stance and protected this digger, instead of being the coward behind a desk !!!
