Illinois Governor Pat Quinn
We the People of the United States oppose the use of the Illinois Thomson Prison for housing of Guantanamo Bay detainees.
We are concerned about security issues should Illinois be forced to house these enemy combatants and government waste in duplicating services already provided in Guantanamo.
The transfer of Guantanamo Bay detainees to the Illinois Thomson Prison is a slap in the face of every family with an active soldier and every Gold Star Family in this country. These brave Heroes serve each day to preserve our liberty, and many have given their lives to keep us safe.
It is wrong to bring these terrorists to the Illinois Thomson Prison or anywhere in the United States where they will be given the rights of American citizens and jeopardize our safety and security.

My son is serving overseas right now and this idea is a total slap in the face. Not in our state.
Keep them out of Illinois. We dont need these people in our backyard especially near our schools and homes.
Illinois has enough problems without adding this to the list. Find somewhere else for them or keep them where they are.
why in the world would we want these guys here. totally backwards move by the governor.
THOMSON IS NOT THE PLACE FOR TERRORISTS. Keep the prison for our own inmates and keep our state safe.
