This petition is to make the use of automated telephone calls by a company or organisation (scotland) which do not provide an option to speak with a Customer advisor /member of Staff or Telephone operator ilegal.

what does this mean?


This means a company or organisation who operate and have an automated answer phone(Scotland) will legally have to provide a mandatory option to speak with a Customer advisor/member of Staff or a telephone operator.


So why should this law be put in place?


Many companies have forgotten that they are paid to provide a service. An automated machine is not a service, it is merely a nuisance and a restriction of the services we pay for.


Who does this effect?


Well all of us but especially the elderly. we all have struggles with pressing numbers, remembering the 84 million different automated services it tells us and the embarrassing accents we put on. Not all of us can understand these machines.


Where is this effecting?


Everywhere. But the current petition is for scotland and if successful may lead to further petitions in the UK.


So what can be done?

Companies would be obligated to abide by the law to provide a mandatory option to speak with a Customer advisor/member of Staff or telephone operator and in failing to do so will be breaking the law.
