We, the residents of Ilion, NY are seeking to be reimbursed and/or given discounts on our water bill due to consistently not being able to use it safely. There have been several boil water advisory notices, lasting longer than a week at a time! During these times, we are forced to find safe water elsewhere & pay for that water also. The current algae issue (or whatever it may be) is also NOT safe & once again we're buying safe water. While we do understand it happens once & a while, it's beyond ridiculous here in Ilion lately & far outlasts a normal amount of time for repair. Since we're charged a HEFTY $50 fee if we're but minutes late on our water bill, surely WE should be compensated for paying for a service that is NOT being provided properly. or in a timely fashion. For instance, when we have no usable water, we should be given a fair credit of $50 for OUR inconvenience & our out of pocket water costs. If the person/persons in charge are unable to maintain safe quality water, we also request that someone more qualified & able to meet that task in a TIMELY manner are hired on. Thank you.
