Dublin is to get a second Ikea store while the people of Munster continue to cry out for their own one. Easy access to Swedish storage solutions, scented candles and all the meatballs you can eat should be available to all of us... please, Ikea, come to Cork!

The silence from the corporate offices is becoming difficult to ignore but it only confirms that we need to keep this pressure steady. I am exhausted by the constant travel required just to furnish a home and I know many of you are feeling the exact same frustration.

Great site on the Middleton Road ready for development ! Excellent road access from Kerry Waterford Tipperary and of course Cork !!! We need this so much
Oh yes. I live in Manchester so I have one here. My room is decked out in Ikea. I am from Cork, and will be moving back in a few years and would love one there, as would my very large family, who have in the past travelled to Dublin to purchase.
I think it is ridiculous that Cork as the second biggest city in Ireland doesn't have Ikea around. In my country which is Poland, we have Ikeas in all big cities.
Would love an IKEA in Cork. I have visited the IKEA branch in Lanzarote on a few occasions, while on holidays there. Would love to be able to visit one closer to home and not worry about baggage allowance on Ryanair!
Ikea should come to Cork , there are alot of prime locations big enough in cork to build it would be a great boost for the people of Cork and get a lot of people back into the work force..

I wholeheartedly support the idea of getting IKEA to open a store here in Cork. The city sits at the heart of the second largest metropolitan area in the republic, and quite frankly suffers fron a monopoly by a handful of supposedly local stores that offer kitschy and/or horribly overpriced furniture. A big change is needed to break this stranglehold.
